Village Building Convergence

FRIDAY NIGHT features five performers, three workshops and kaleidscope yoga all in one night!

Doors at 5:30pm, dinner at 6pm, workshops at 7pm and music starts at 9pm~

Workshops include: Indigenous Right Relations with Pulxaneeks Love & Warren Hooley, Compassionate Communication with Upgeya Pew, and Origins of Tiny Homes Movement with Mark LakemanKaleidoscope Yogafacilitated by Ayomide Njo.

Musical performances:

Earth Guardians are Xiuhtezcatl, 16, and Itzcuauhtli, 13, are eco hip-hop artists and activists who write and produce music to educate their generation about the global environmental crisis and to inspire people of all ages to connect with their passions & move into positive, creative action.

DJ Anjali and The Incredible Kid are most known for incinerating dance floors with the heavy dance floor artillery of South Asia. This impressive duo scour the globe for any hard-hitting music that combines local music traditions with window-rattling production. “DJ Anjali & the Incredible Kid have been Portland’s leading world music DJs since the turn of the millennium.” -Willamette Week.

Mic Crenshaw & DJ Klavical
Chicago-born poet and emcee, Mic Crenshaw is a cultural activist with both local and international impact. He co-founded GlobalFam, a non-profit music label for disadvantaged youth in Burundi, Central Africa and is currently the lead U.S. organizer for the Afrikan Hiphop Caravan. DJ Klavical creates and performs hip-hop and electronic music from latin blends to funk to soul to breaks, delivering a hybrid of multi genre tracks that get people moving.

Most Hi Sound & selectress instigatah dub poet & reggae selectress (spoken word)

Jujuba delivers a funky, danceable style of Nigerian Afrobeat and Juju music. The strength of the eleven-piece revolves around its energetic cohesion between percussion, rhythm and horn sections.

East Forest East Forest’s blissful brand of music for old souls blends achingly emotional wordlessness, ambience, and contemporary classical touches with a touch of pop sensibilities and electronic flavors.
