REYNA TROPICAL
REYNA TROPICAL is Fabi Reyna (She Shreds Magazine/Savíla) and Sumohair (LA based producer,) 2 Mexican Expats who met in Nashville at Redbull Music Academy’s Bass Camp, Bonnaroo. They went in the studio that same day and recorded a track that would later inspire “Reyna Tropical.” In the spirit of experimentation, they record each track in one session of improvisation.

“By pairing bright guitar riffs and meticulously layered samples with lulling lyricism, Reyna and Diaz meld the best of both worlds to create a tropical sound as complex and expansive as their shared experiences of bicultural Latinidad.”

BROWN CALCULUS
Sharing the same body in their past lives, BROWN CALCULUS perform with melanated synergy. Keyboardist and beat maker Andre Burgos and singer/songwriter Vaughn Kimmons are Geminis, illuminating the sacredness of Black music, seeking to bring about community on Earth and beyond. They explore the soundscapes of the post-soul movement, revealing the connection between complicated time signatures and Black divinity, with a cosmic sound that remains grounded.

“Though they’ve been a band for only a little over a year, the creative chemistry between Vaughn Kimmons and Andre Burgos seems like divine kismet.” www.wweek.com/music/the-spacey-soul-of-brown-calculus-should-be-sold-in-health-and-wellness-stores

“When DJ Anjali and the Incredible Kid take the stage at Wonder Ballroom on New Year’s Eve, they’ll be celebrating their 18th year of playing records together. Anjali Hursh started out with little fanfare, but her exuberant playlists have become one of the most beloved mainstays of Portland nightlife.” OPB State of Wonder 12/12/18
